We left early Friday morning for the airport and Dami slept through both plane rides and enjoyed have everyone to look at and play with! I really appreciated the help with playing with Dami and with carrying some of our luggage! After the flights we rented the cars and headed out for a two hour drive to Rutland, Vermont. It sure is beautiful up there! There was still snow up on the top of the mountains.
This was Damian's first time to meet most of my mom's side of the family and I was so excited! He was a hit and loved meeting all of his great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins! On Friday night we got settled at the lodge and then headed to the Pasta Pot for dinner. Dami had a little pasta and most everyone had muscles! They were delicious! After dinner we all headed back to the lodge and called it a night.
On Saturday Dami and I got up and headed down to breaksfast. There were lots of stairs at this place and I think he spent the majority of the weekend going up and down them exploring the whole place. We ate breakfast and then went with everyone on a hike. The goal was a waterfall, but Dami and I didn't make it. I didn't have "hiking" attire and Dami was tired, wanted to nurse, and get down and play. So we turned around before we got the whole way there, but it was fun to do some hiking on the Appalachian Trail! After the hiking we went back to the lodge to get ready for the wedding. Dami took a short nap and the it was time for Jake to get married!
The wedding was in a beautiful old church built in the 1800. Kathleen looked beautiful and Jake was very handsome! We then headed back to the lodge to kick off the reception. It was in a big white tent on the lawn and the weather was perfect! The food was delicious, the cake was wonderful carrot cake and the dancing was so fun! Dami loved just wandering around practicing his walking skills! Dami and I called it a night a while before everyone else, but could hear the music and laughter from our room.
The next morning, we all got up for breakfast and then Dami, my mom and I headed to church. Dami fell asleep on the way so my mom waited in the car with him while I went to Mass. After church we headed the Kathleen's parents house for a wonderful lunch! Then we all packed back in the car, said a few tearful good byes and took off to visit Lihi, Jeffery and Nevo, Sara and Sean's old neighbors who moved to New Hampshire. Damian had a blast playing with Nevo!
The next morning we ate a wonderful breakfast and then headed to the airport! The trip seemed to go so quickly, but we are so glad we got to go!
Great post Meg!!!! You beat us!!!!

It was a wonderful weekend in Vermont. Jake and Kathleen's wedding was the hook that got us all to Vermont to celebrate together and then the icing on the cake was getting to meet Dami...what a special little fellow. He charmed us all.
