Return from God's country!

Dami and I returned home last night from a wonderful trip with my mom and sister, Sara, to visit my grandparents and Aunt, Uncle and Cousins! We had a wonderful trip!

Friday: We left bright and early and Uncle Sean took us to the airport. Dami did great on the plane. He was even awake for alot of it and was content playing with Grandma B, who was sitting next to us. There were a few other little ones around us and Sara made a friend! The little 12 month old who was sitting next to her was kind of upset and the mom had lost her necklace. Sara offered to hold him while she looked and before you knew it the little guy was asleep for about an hour!

Dami doesn't look happy in this picture, but he really did great the whole time!

Aunt Sara thought Dami would prefer this car but we opted for the white Saturn instead. It held Dami's car seat perfectly!

After the 2 hour drive to Eau Claire Wisconsin we got to chat with Grandma and Grandpa for a while before we headed down to supper. He was a hit with his Great-Grandparents! I don't think they could get over how much he had grown since last years visit! He was also a big hit in the dining room. He walked up and down the isles smiling, waving and blowing kisses! He is a charmer!

My god-parents, Roger and Mary, live in Eau Claire and last year when we visited they were visiting their son in Texas. This year Mary was visiting Texas again, but we got to visit with Roger! It was great to see him. We ate at a restaurant called Noodles and Company. It was delicious! Here we are looking at the menu trying to decide what to order. Mom asked the cashier to take our picture. I think he thought we were crazy!

After dinner with Roger we headed to Chippewa to see Cousin Dan play soccer! He is a great player and his team won! Here is mom with Cousin Ben.

Damian loves Aunt Lyria! Mom tried really hard not to be jealous!

I thought I got a picture of Dan playing but I guess I missed the opportunity. After the game we headed to their favorite Mexican restaurant Casa for our (second) dinner. It was very good! You can't really tell in this picture but the big news is that Dan has finally passed Uncle Rick and now holds the tallest family member award! He is 6'5"!

On Friday we got up and got ready and then headed to pick Grandma and Grandpa up to go to Osseo. We got to see the old house and it sure looks great! I hope the family there is making as many good memories as we have there!

After driving by the house we headed to the Norske Nooke! It is a family tradition and Great-Aunt Louise even met us! It was fun to catch up with her and hear about what her kids/grand kids/great-grandson are up to! Sara and I got pancakes for lunch and Mom got a bowl of soup that she shared with Dami. Then we got pie! Grandma and Grandpa got a yummy strawberry pie, I got the banana cream pie and Sara and Mom got the pecan fudge. Can you tell we don't go hungry when we head to Wisconsin!

After lunch we drove out to the old family farm house that my Grandma was born in, drove past the other family farm houses, and  saw the church that my grandparents were married in. They tore down the old one room school house that my grandma went to since the last time I visited.

After our trip down memory lane went back to Grandma and Grandpas to visit and Dami got to do some more exploring. After a while we left them to rest and we went to visit the Hagenesses (Anna's godparents). Whenever Garry calls he says " Hello from God's country!" It was wonderful to see them again! Dami loved playing out on their beautiful back porch. Sonya ran off to a church function before we could get her picture but here is one with Garry! They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!

On the way back to Lyria and Rick's Mom stopped here to take a quick picture. It is the Bracket bar and used to be a hang out of my dads! He took my mom their once but she never went back!

Saturday we got up and headed to a local Chippewa farm! It was neat to see all the plants and they had a cute store conected. I forgot to take pictures there, but it was a beautiful morning to browse! Then we headed to downtown Chippewa to have lunch at a wonderful hamburger resturant and then headed over to Olsen's for Ice Cream! Don't we all look happy and full!

Later that afternoon Mom and Lyria went to pick up Grandma and Grandpa for a Swedish Meatball dinner. Here they are relaxing on the screened in porch! Don't they look wonderful!

Here is Dami on the same porch! It was fun to watch them watch him while he was sleeping! He zonked out on our walk. I was so thankful Lyria asked to borrow this stroller, it sure came in handy for neighborhood walks!
