The Lake!

Well it has been a while and we apologize for the laps. I think it gets overwhelming to blog if I haven't done it in a few weeks! So I am going to skip all the other stuff (for now) and get right into our great family mini vacation!

On Thursday we headed down to lake LBJ for just a quick 2 day 1 night retreat! Some of Kevin's classmates invited us and we are sure glad we had the opportunity! We left about 5 Thursday morning, so Dami would finish his sleeping in the car. It worked out great. We arrived about 9:30 and the fun began. We headed down to the pool for a while and then Dami got to go on his first boat ride! We were out for about two hours and he did great. Mostly he sat and watched, pointing to everything as we passed. He even took a nap for about 20 minutes.

When we got back we ate lunch and since Dami didn't seem like he wanted to nap we headed down to the lake to play on the little beach near the condo. He was a little nervous at first but warmed up to it and really enjoyed playing with the rocks and later the sand.  It sure was hot, but don't worry with plenty of sunscreen we all made it out okay!

That evening Dami was so tuckered out he went to bed at 5:50. We thought for sure it would just be a nap, but he ended up sleeping until 7 the next morning! Kevin and I spent a relaxing evening with Hayley and Brian eating a yummy salad,  spaghetti and bread.

The next morning we were up and ready to go early. We headed out to get breakfast while everyone else slept in for a bit. We hit the playground and Dami loved the slide and sea-saw. He also liked the sand so much he tried to eat it a few times. That resulted in some funny faces! He also rolled in it for a bit too. He is so silly. After the playground we headed back up to the condo to get changed for the water. Everyone was up and moving so we joined them for a (second) yummy breakfast and then headed down to the lake.  We played for a while and then hit the pool. By that time we were getting pretty hungry so we headed up to take showers and make BLTs for lunch. After showering, packing and eating we headed back home.

Dami slept most of the way. He is a pretty good little traveler and Kevin didn't do so bad himself! We are loving this time that Kevin has off and can't believe it is over in a little over a week!













I don't have any pictures on the boat, but when I get some I will post them too!
