After struggling to install the carseat for a while (my belly seemed to get in the way a bit) we were off. It is an hour and a half drive from the Twin Cities to my grandparents apartment. On the way we stopped for a yummy bite to eat at a bagel shop that had a children's resale shop connected to it. Grandma B found Dami the cutest Packers hat and she just had to get it to match his Packers jacket from Grandpa JP. He sure fit in, up in Wisconsin! After eating we headed to see Grandma Carol and Grandpa Bernie! That we caught up a bit and Dami showed off all of his talking and playing for Grandma and Grandpa. We stayed the night in the guest room at the apartments.
The next day we got a few things done and headed to a few stores for Grandma. We also stopped by Good Will to pick up some snow gear for Dami. We wanted him to experience sledding and new the price would be right. The only snow boots we found in his size were pink, but he didn't mind! We also found snow pants, so he was all set. On the way back to the apartments we stopped by Roger , my godfather's work to say hi! After seeing Roger we stopped in down the road to say hi to Mary, my godmother! It was a quick hello, but I'm so glad we got to see them both.
The rest of the trip was a whirl wind of visiting, hair cuts, lunch at Olive Garden, sledding, playing with Aunt Lyria, Uncle Rick and Cousin Dan, watching Sophie-dog and the list goes on...
Here are some pictures from Olive Garden:
Notice Mom and I have new hair cuts! You can also check out the pink snow boots.
Here are pictures of our sledding adventure! Don't worry I didn't venture down the hill at 33 weeks pregnant! Sara and Dan were wonderful and took Dami so he wouldn't miss out! Mom and Lyria stuck close to my side, so I didn't take a tumble on the snow/ice!
Grandma said she could spot Sara's red hat from the window at their apartment!
Here are some pictures in the dining room with Grandma and Grandpa.
Here is our handsome cousin Dan! He is the baby of the cousins, though he has surpassed us all at 6' 7"! He was all dressed up and headed to a Valentine's party with his girlfriend!
While Lyria, Mom, Sara and I were busy in the kitchen making pizza and the worlds best chocolate chip cookies (ask Sara for the recipe) Dami and Uncle Rick got some quality time over duplos! They were so cute to watch and listen to, Dami was just talking up a storm and laughing too!
We headed back this morning after one more visit with Grandma and Grandpa. The flight was uneventful and then we were surprised by Kevin meeting us at the airport! He has a big test in the morning so my dad was going to take us home. Instead he met us and we even got to stop for dinner! Damian was so happy to see Daddy and so was I!!!!
Happy St. Valentine's Day!
P.S. I'm going to get back into the routine of blogging and catch up on some long over due house pictures! Hang in there and check back soon.
We loved having you visit. We miss Damain especially! Sophie-dog needs some love and attention.
